Podere Don Cataldo is one of Rocca's wineries in Leverano, near Lecce. For a long time this winery was only there for the production of wine. A few years ago, Rocca started to convert this winery into a combination of winery and resort, which now gives it more allure than ever. Rocca has decided to set up a completely new line from the 2020 wine year, named after the Podere, with new wines of superior quality.

After alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, part of the wine matures in French oak barrels. The wines from the Susumaniello grape have a deep ruby red hue and powerful aromas of ripe red berries, raspberry, cherries and plums, but also spicy, peppery aromas and notes of chocolate.

This wine is delicious with grilled and spicy beef, game, rabbit with plums, cassoulet with rabbit, ripe pecorino cheeses.
