Podere Don Cataldo is one of Rocca's wineries in Leverano, near Lecce. For a long time, this winery was only there for the production of wine. A few years ago, Rocca started to convert this winery into a combination of winery and resort, which now gives it more allure than ever. Rocca has decided to set up a completely new line from the 2020 wine year, named after the Podere, with new wines of superior quality.

The harvest takes place at the end of August / beginning of September. Traditional red wine vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel barrels. After fermentation, part of this wine matures in oak barrels and part in stainless steel tanks. This wine has an intense deep red color with purple nuances. Despite the intense taste, you can recognize the smell and taste of ripe, red fruit such as black cherry and sometimes even raspberry in the wine, which makes it very accessible. The soil type gives the wine a spicy taste reminiscent of pepper and licorice. Very pleasant aftertaste with soft tannins and a pleasant acidity.

This wine is delicious with your meat dishes, barbecue and stews of beef, pork and game. Very pleasant with lightly smoked or spicy meat dishes and pasta with mushrooms. Delicious wine to enjoy at home on the couch.
