Connemara Irish Malt is a gold-colored peated Irish whiskey that puts a lot of emphasis on the peat part. It is the first thing you encounter in its scent. An aroma reminiscent of a warm crackling fire followed by a softer heathery freshness. A heath full of flowers, hence the floral notes. It is difficult to figure out exactly what kind of notes these are, but it is not unpleasant, actually quite pleasant. Close on its heels is a sweet scent of honey with a woody background. Immediately in its taste, the honey is again very easy to detect, not too overpowering, but present. You can't ignore it. Followed by a smoky peat flavor with soft notes of malt and barley sweetness. With a long finish, this Connemara will let you enjoy a final encore of honey with a little peat smoke to round it all off for a long time.
