About the winery In the heart of Stellenbosch, at the foot of the famous Simonsberg, are the vineyards of the German wine family Sperling. The country house was purchased in 1938 by Hans Otto Hoheisen and his wife Deli, after which the Delheim domain was named. In the 1950s it was taken over by Michael Sperling and his wife Vera, who laid the foundation for the wine company as we know it today. Delheim is best known for its Chenin Blancs and Pinotage. Vineyard and region Sourced from several vineyards in the Muldersvleikom in Stellenbosch, South Africa. Vinification The fermentation starts at a low temperature and is then raised to a temperature of 26 to 28 degrees. The wine then matures for 15 months in a combination of large and small oak barrels, 22% of which are new. Color Ruby red with a purple glow. Scent Clove, Asian spices, wood, dark berries. Taste Full of flavor with both fruity and savory notes. Soft, elegant aftertaste with subtle wood influences. Serve at Delicious with grilled aubergines. Also delicious with lamb.
