Just like last year, the Talisker 8 years Special Release 2020 is the youngest whiskey in the series, but certainly not the least. By maturing the whiskey for 'only' 8 years and filling it at cask strength (57.8%), you experience how the maritime and adventurous character is pushed to unprecedented heights. An important and interesting detail is that this expression has undergone a finish on ex-rum barrels from Jamaica, which is a first for this distillery. Discover how the best of two completely different worlds come together in the Talisker 8 years Special Release of 2020. Sweets and tropical fruit notes develop in the nose to maritime influences, sea salt and a pepper that Talisker is known for. Sugared candy, lime, peat smoke and tropical fruit complement this in a special way. Rich, round and sweet; this whiskey has it all from the first sip. Peat smoke floats in the background and gradually comes to the fore in combination with hints of tropical fruit and apple. Black pepper, sea salt, chili and citrus complement this further. The aftertaste combines hints of fresh fruit, licorice and charcoal.
