Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva is a unique ‘sipping rum’. It is a blend of 80% ‘heavy rums’ and 20% ‘light rums’ which is aged for a further 12 years in whiskey barrels. The result is a truly exceptional rum with Diplomatico's characteristic sweet and fruity aromas. This complex blend of copper pot still rum has a distinctive nose with notes of fruit cake, rum-raisin ice cream, cocoa, dried ginger, cinnamon and cloves. Slightly deeper, you experience baked banana with toffee sauce, vanilla, syrupy gingerbread and hints of orange peel. The flavour is reminiscent of chocolate sauce, toffee fudge and tropical fruit. Destilerías Unidas S.A. (DUSA) is a relatively young distillery founded in 1959. It is located in the transition of the tropical rainforest at the foot of the Andes mountains, where the rum gets both its flavour and unique maturation. Ron Diplomático is the showpiece of Tito Cordero, the 3rd Master Blender in the brand's history. In 2014, he was awarded the title ‘World's Best Rum Master Blender’ to crown his work.
