Zacapa 23 Years is a premium rum made from rum aged between 6 and 23 years. Zacapa is made from the sweetest high-quality cane honey, rather than molasses, and is aged in old oak barrels previously used to produce American whiskies, Oloroso whisky and Pedro Ximinez sherry. This unique process is known as the ‘Sistema Solera’. Zacapa's secrets lie in the slow fermentation process at high altitude: 2,300 metres above sea level, in the fresh air of the Guatemalan highlands. This slows down the fermentation process and creates an exceptional balance between the aromas and flavours that develop during this long process. In January 2012, Zacapa was named one of the ‘World's Top 100 Most Valuable Luxury Brands’ by the World Luxury Association. Its complex sweet and fruity flavour and chocolate flavours can be enjoyed pure or with ice. It makes its mark in cocktails.
