The Balvenie 12 Year Double Wood is an amber-coloured single malt whisky hailing from Scotland. This version has been allowed to mature for 12 years in former whisky and bourbon casks, before receiving a finish in sherry casks for a further nine months. As a result, it boasts a very pleasant sherry aroma, underpinned by a thick layer of creamy vanilla with sweet notes of honey. Its flavour is smooth with a nutty sweetness and various spicy notes of cinnamon. A subtle hint of sherry takes you to a lingering finish with a warming note.
