Jameson is a balanced precision product. First, for a natural barley flavor, there is the balance between malted and unmalted barley. Secondly, the careful handling of the quantities of triple distilled “pot still” and grain whiskeys, for exceptional mildness. Finally, matching the sweet, nutty flavor of the sherry casks with the toasted wood and vanilla notes of the bourbon casks.
Jameson is the best-selling Irish whiskey in the world.
Jameson's blended whiskeys are produced at a distillery in Midleton, County Cork, from malted and unmalted Irish barley and are triple distilled, resulting in exceptional smoothness. Jameson Irish Whiskey is made from a mixture of malted and unmalted barley that is distilled three times - as John Jameson himself did centuries ago - in three separate copper stills: a wash still, a feint still and finally a spirit still. The mash itself is made from barley, corn and pure Irish water, which contributes to the whisky's unique character.
Jameson Original Irish Whiskey is a blend of pot still and fine grain whiskeys that have been matured for at least 4 years. The whiskey is matured in a combination of old sherry casks and old bourbon casks to add spicy and sweet notes.
