Victor & Charles is a modern champagne house from France, founded as a tribute to family and a passion for quality.

What is Victor & Charles?

Type: Champagne house (champagne producer).
Location: Épernay, in the Champagne region of France (with vineyards around Hautvillers and Grauves, amongst others).
Founded: 2016 by the Antwerp-based entrepreneur Filip Mertens, named after his father Charles and grandfather Victor.
Production: Together with winemaker Nicolas Bauget, a fifth-generation winegrower from Épernay, the champagnes are produced using traditional methods, with a focus on terroir and the traditional méthode champenoise.
Grapes: The champagne is made from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier from vineyards around Épernay.

Style & character

Victor & Charles focuses on elegant, refined champagnes with a blend of freshness, structure and complexity, ideal for fine dining and special occasions.

Victor & Charles ages its wines in the bottle for at least several years before disgorgement, and some cuvées are partially vinified in oak for added complexity.
