About the winery Trapiche was founded in 1883 with a small vineyard at the foot of the Andes, called El Trapiche. Started as a local company, Trapiche has now grown into a major winery with more than 1,200 hectares of vineyards. In addition, they work with more than 300 wine growers in the area to offer wine from the best terroirs in Mendoza. Vineyard and region Sourced from several high altitude vineyards in the province of Mendoza, Argentina. The altitude varies from 950 and 1200 meters. Vinification The grapes are destemmed and pressed. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15 degrees. Half of the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation. This fermentation converts the sharp malic acid into milder lactic acid and makes the wine softer and creamier in taste. Then 50% of the wine is matured in French and American barrels, the rest matures in stainless steel. Color Lemon yellow with a green glow. Smell Toast, apple pie, vanilla. Taste Round, creamy wine with subtle wood influences, such as toast and vanilla. Serve with Delicious with pasta with chicken in cream sauce. Also delicious with asparagus.
