The vineyard has an average age of 25 years and stretches around the château, on warm soil with predominantly gravel, where the Cabernet Sauvignon expresses its finesse and delicacy. Cultivation and vinification have remained traditional, with low yields depending on the vintage. Fermentation and maceration take place in concrete tanks at controlled temperatures. The vineyard's exquisite location in the Isle valley produces a very fine, characterful wine every year. As early as the 12th century, the Knights of St James of Jerusalem provided accommodation there for pilgrims on their way to St James of Compostella and protected them from robberies.
