Royal Brackla 16 years comes from the first distillery to officially use the title ‘Royal’. This is a rich sherry whisky with a sweet and slightly spicy character. It obtains this as a result of maturation in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks. The aroma is full and fruity: apple, pear, melon follow one another. Around this hang sweet notes of honey, toffee and floral notes accompanied by a hint of ginger. Honey-soaked fruit opens on the palate. This develops into warmer, spicy notes of cinnamon, ginger and clove. The finish is long, spicy, fruity and somewhat sweet.
