Set in a romantic location on the island of Islay, Lagavullin distillery overlooks Dunyvaig Castle. Released to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Lagavullin distillery by John Johnston in 1816, this 8-year-old single malt Scotch whisky is big and smoky.
A tribute to the people and craft that made Lagavulin great over the past few centuries. Its aromatic tea-scented smoke alongside nose-drying, maritime aromas, is released with a mere dash of water.
Inspired by Alfred Barnard's visit to the distillery in the 1980s, when he tried an ‘exceptionally fine’ 8-year-old whisky from the distillery, this is a fitting tribute to the milestone. With a light body that becomes pleasantly oily, the taste of 8-year-old Lagavulin is rich with a luscious full-bodied Lagavulin flavour that is somehow bigger than you might expect.
The clean, long finish is subtle with notes of a peppermint smoke and warm chocolate. The 8-year-old limited edition demands some special attention. Make time to enjoy it pure in a whisky nosing glass, or simply with a splash of water. The beautifully authentic, limited edition gift box makes this the perfect gift for lovers of peaty and powerful whiskies.
A full-bodied taste that is charred, with notes of peppermint and dark chocolate. Delicious pure or with a splash of water.
