A Dalwhinnie Distillers Edition cannot be out of place, for lovers of delicious sweet whisky with hints of Oloroso sherry this is ideal. This 2017 edition is truly a topper! Nose: sherry with a transition to malt. Honey, light peat and some spices. Flavour: accessible and opens nicely spiced. Malt then comes to the fore emphatically, which transitions to an explosion of sweetness. Finish: lots of oak and particularly dry. Vanilla is evident.
