All beauty comes from afar. That certainly applies to this Barista Chardonnay. Responsible for this juicy pleasure is none other than the almost legendary Boekenhoutskloof. Winemaker Marc Kent has an illustrious history that many other wineries look at in awe. Enviously, they look over the fences at Boekenhoutskloof in Franschhoek; that's how incredibly good his wines are. However, Marc Kent's expansionism is unsustainable and he also has vineyards elsewhere in this beautiful wine country. Further north is the domain of Barista, which, since its first harvest in 2013, have managed to create an instant fanbase.
Sometimes it is the simplicity that is striking about a glass of wine. After all, some grape bunches need no fuss. Adornment is not needed likewise the fuss. Just a good glass of Chardonnay wine from South Africa: that is Barista Chardonnay. A glass of wine that most can enjoy like this, but which also goes very well with a sumptuous lunch of smoked chicken on salmon.
