The Rock Oyster Cask Strength Batch 2 is an Islands blended malt and a cask-strength version of the ‘standard’ Rock Oyster. It is a bottling in the Remarkable Regional Malts series from the independent bottler Douglas Laing. This second batch was bottled in 2018 at cask strength (56.1%), is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring. “A true maritime whisky that is also much bolder, with sharp peat smoke, sweet honey from the Arran casks, flambéed orange peel, a salty character from the Orkney malts with sweet peat, black pepper, phenols, iodine and a hint of citrus and barley from the Jura.”
