This elegant Speyside single malt, distilled in 2001 and selected by independent bottler Wilson & Morgan, perfectly demonstrates how sherry cask maturation can lend finesse and depth to a classic Highland-style whisky. The nose opens richly and invitingly with aromas of raisins, dried figs and candied fruit, complemented by notes of honey, toasted nuts and gentle spices.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and silky, with layers of dark chocolate, caramel and orange peel that blend beautifully with the warm influence of the sherry cask. At the same time, the whisky retains an elegant freshness and refined balance, typical of the Speyside region. The finish is long, gently spicy and warming, with lingering notes of dried fruit and oak.
