This is a single malt Scotch whisky from Caol Ila, distilled in 2012 and subsequently matured in a special Marsala cask. The bottling was produced by Spencer Collings as part of their 50th-anniversary edition.
Custom Marsala cask (filled with Marsala wine casks for extra complexity)

Islay – an island renowned for powerful, smoky whiskies.
This whisky is distinctly peaty.
Caol Ila traditionally uses peat-smoked malted barley, so you get a smoky peaty base with maritime (salty) influences typical of Islay whiskies.
Thanks to the Marsala cask maturation, this bottling often has a more complex character than standard Caol Ila:
