Armorik Single Malt is produced by the Warenghem Distillery, located in Lannionin in Brittany, France. After years of experience distilling mainly fruits and liqueurs, they decided to switch to distilling whisky in 1983. In 1998, the first Breton whisky, Armorik, saw the light of day. The distillery aims to pay homage to Breton country by using organic barley of French origin, traditional pot stills and unique casks from northern French oak, among other things.
On the nose, this single cask bottling from France's Armorik Distillery has some interesting aromas right away: exotic fruits, strawberries, a slight smokiness and coffee beans. The flavours continue on this momentum: ripe tropical fruit, roasted and peppery aromas and a general spiciness. Finish is long and spicy, with a hint of sugarcane.
