Extremely rare, our virgin Japanese mizunara comes from Hokkaido, Japan’s rugged northernmost island. It is made to order at Japan’s only independent cooperage, by Japan’s oldest cooper. Mizunara enhances much of what is already there, whilst adding more of the softness of vanilla, sandalwood notes and even a hint of coconut or gorse blossom as you emerge from our neck of the woods. This whisky has very different and exotic flavours compared to what you might expect from an Irish single malt. And there’s nothing quite like it around! This is one to pick up and enjoy. The nose. Honeycomb, vanilla, apricot and citrus. The palate. Velvety smooth with more vanilla, fudge, toffee, peach and marmalade followed by sandalwood, cinnamon and oriental spices. The finish.
