Plantation Extra Old 20th Anniversary is a special edition released in honour of the Master Distiller's 20th anniversary. This delicious and rich rum from Barbados was blended to perfection and then laid to rest in oak casks that previously contained bourbon. After the initial maturation period, the casks were transported by boat to France, where the contents were transferred to ex-cognac casks from Maison Ferrand. On these casks, Plantation XO continues to age for some time.
The use of double maturation gives this Plantation XO an unprecedented smooth character accompanied by wonderfully complex aromas and flavours. Various tropical notes are present, including ripe banana, vanilla, toasted coconut, fresh mango and hints of chocolate.
