A deep red Piedmont wine with an expressive nose of ripe black cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants and subtle spices. The Barbera brings juicy red fruit and lively freshness, whilst the Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure, depth and spiciness. Full-bodied and harmonious on the palate, with ripe tannins, lovely concentration and a long, elegant finish.

Barrel ageing

Limited technical information is available for the 2023 vintage of Infine. Given the house style of Poderi Giovanni Rosso and the composition of this cuvée, one can assume partial ageing in oak, which adds extra complexity with notes of cocoa, vanilla and spices. The producer regularly uses small oak barrels for his top wines to achieve greater structure and depth.

• Under good cellar conditions, the wine can develop additional complexity with notes of leather, tobacco and dried fruit.

The combination of Barbera (acid structure) and Cabernet Sauvignon (tannins) gives this wine better ageing potential than many simple Monferrato wines.
