Dalmore 12 a creation of master distiller Andrew Mackenzie, a Highland single malt scotch whiskey with character that far exceeds its age. The whole matured for nine years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, after which it was distributed. One half remained in the bourbon barrels and the rest was transferred to the exclusive 30-year-old Gonzalez byass matusalem oloroso sherry butts for the last three years. After this process they were reunited to create this phenomenal whisky. A whiskey with the aroma of a warm Seattle coffeehouse. The wonderful smell of roasted beans and espressos. All around you smell soft notes of malt and grain, butter and rich orange aroma. His tastes take a slightly different direction. From soft marmalade, triple sec and warming winter herbs and fruit cake. Sixties cocoa. Chocolate and orange is a tasty combination in itself, but it certainly comes into its own here. The citrus flavor of the orange leads you to its aftertaste. One that doesn't last too long, but one that stays with you for a long time.
