On the palate, this wine expresses notes of wild blackberries, wild cassis and small hints of strawberries and black cherries, associated with notes of flowers, olive tree, fresh blueberries and tonka bean, as well as very discreet roasted notes and an imperceptible touch of Sichuan pepper. The tannins are firm and a bit dry. Good persistence with notes of tonka bean and a very discreet touch of caramelization. Quinta da Devesa has an ancient history. In 1844, the famous Baron of Forrester placed this property on the first map of the demarcated Douro region. But the main story of this property began in the last century, in 1941, when the Fortunato family acquired the Quinta, beginning a new phase of greater investment in wine production, with a special focus on Port wines. Later, references to DOC Douro wines also appeared, strengthening its presence on the national and international wine market. Today, Quinta da Devesa is still an independent, future-oriented family business, present in various international markets. The investments made in recent years have led to greater recognition from wine enthusiasts and specialist critics. The result of all this is also visible in the enormous number of national and international awards that have been achieved to date.
