In the scent of Chateau La Croix Montlabert Saint Emilion Grand Cru you will find red berries and cherries, in combination with a hint of vanilla. The wine has a good structure with the taste of black cherries, currants, cedar and plums, with spiciness and nicely integrated tannins. This wine is the second wine from the renowned, classic Saint-Emilion-Chateau Montlabert. Although the wine comes from younger vines than those of the Château Montlabert Grand Cru itself, it is made with the same attention as the grand vin. To increase quality even further, after the purchase in 2009, the Castel family asked Hubert de Boüard de Laforest of Château Angelus to assist maître de chai Ludovic Hérault with advice throughout the year. Hubert de Boüard is an expert in the field of Cabernet Franc, both in terms of vineyard management and in the cellar. The cabernet franc is a grape that does very well in the vineyards of Montlabert; everything is meticulous, right down to the moment of picking. In good years, the quality of this grape can make the difference between a very good wine and a brilliant one. With this wine the two gentlemen prove how beautiful the result can be. As a lighter version of the Montlabert, this wine is suitable for enjoying young. Chateau La Croix Montlabert Saint Emilion Grand Cru is delicious with all types of red, grilled and roasted meat, but also delicious with boeuf bourguignon or coq-au-vin, or just to enjoy on its own.
