After the cult gin ‘Bonny & Clyde’ and the Blind Tiger Handcrafted Gin, the Deluxe Distillery from Kortrijk comes up with the Blind Tiger Gin Imperial Secrets. Truly blind this tiger with one eye is not, but sublime the gin certainly is. A hint of mystery surrounds Blind Tiger Gin Imperial Secrets. The story behind the gin is that during Prohibition in the US, certain establishments still secretly served liquor to people who had a ticket marked, for example, ‘Blind Tiger’ or ‘Blind Pig’. Prohibition in America lasted from 1920 to 1933. During this period, the production and consumption of alcoholic beverages was prohibited, leading to a proliferation of illegal distillations. That this led to ‘creative’ solutions is obvious. For Blind Tiger Gin Imperial Secrets, they used the following botanicals, among others: juniper, coriander, grains of paradise, angelica root, iris root, lemon, bitter almond, lemongrass and 3 different types of tea. This successor to Blind Tiger is not made from malted barley like its predecessor but this obviously does not change the quality or flavour.
