Ch. Montlabert is a one-piece domain of 12.5 hectares and has belonged to the largest family of wine merchants in France since 2008, namely the Castel family. The Castel group wants to work with Ch. Montlabert demonstrate the quality they are capable of and attracted Mr. Hubert de Bouard (Ch. Angélus) as consultant. They also invested in the wine cellar and vineyard. The terroir, consisting of clay-sand at the foot of the slopes of St. Emilion, is located not far from Ch. Figeac and Ch. Cheval Blanc. An optical eye is used to select the berries. The wine matures in 50% new oak and 50% 1-year oak. The prices remain attractive and the quality is superb.
