Adnams has been brewing beer in Southwold, a port town in the south of England, for almost 150 years. Since the launch of this complex, powerful gin, Adnams has achieved success when it comes to gin. True to the brewery's tradition, the base alcohol is distilled from barley, wheat and oats, after which 13 botanicals are added: juniper berry, orris root, coriander seed, cardamom, cassia, vanilla, angelica, caraway seed, fennel seed, thyme, licorice, sweet orange peel and lemon peel. The result is a stunningly complex gin with an oily mouthfeel and a strong alcohol content of 48%. If we mainly find juniper, thyme, cardamom and orange in the nose, all botanicals are harmoniously integrated into the taste. The aftertaste is long, with notes of wood and citrus. Both neat and with tonic, this is a gin for connoisseurs!
