This large domain of 40 hectares, of which a quarter is vineyard, is located in Avensan. It belonged to the Miailhe brothers for a long time (since 1945), until it was sold in 1996 to the Merlaut - Villars family (Ch. Chasse Spleen), who still own it today. The vineyard mainly has a terroir of sand-stone and clay-lime. It regularly produces a Haut Médoc of very good quality. The blend is approximately equally divided between merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Color description: Very deep purple. Nose: Very expressive even without waltzes, then lots of dark fruit, herbs, fine tobacco, delicious! Mouth: I once had a very nice experience with a Ch. Citran from 2001 from my personal cellar that was already 16 years old and still sublime! This is due to the beautiful terroir and good vinification. I think that this 2020 certainly also has that quality because already on the nose it was sublime and on the palate it also immediately has a very full attack, followed by a rich and intense middle that continues to grow towards the end. Black fruit, herbs, reglisse and tobacco mix richly. The finale is also very beautiful, powerful and fruity, spicy and fresh at the same time. Top
