GRAND CRU CLASSE
This magnificent Grand Cru Classé of 12 hectares is ideally situated on the clay-limestone slopes south of St Emilion, next to names such as Ch Pavie and Ch Larcis Ducasse. The vineyards enjoy an extreme position towards the sun. The ownership has changed hands several times in recent years: after wine merchant Dominique Hebard it successively fell into Chinese hands, and not long afterwards it passed to the Cypriot John Renos and in 2017 it came back into Chinese hands from Mr Peter Kwok (also owner of Ch Haut Brisson and Ch Tour St Christophe). It is currently Jean - Christophe Meyrou, former employee and manager of Vignobles Peré Vergé (Le Gay & La Violette) who is in charge and does this exceptionally well. The style is that of a full, round wine with a very nice acidity. Very intense purple, beautiful mirror. Sublime nose of alternating red and black fruits, but also fine tobacco and mineral fresh notes. One of the wow wines of 2020 is this Bellefont Belcier. In the nose one already discovers the greatness, in the mouth the wine continues. From the moment of ingestion, it floods the papillae richly and very abundantly with an enormous amount of fine, fresh, juicy and crispy fruit, and continues to grow gradually towards the end. The concentration is enormous, and despite this large reserve of fruit impressions, everything remains beautifully fresh, crispy and pure. The finale is also lengthy, intense, fruity and juicy. Definitely not to be missed in 2020!
