About the winery Trapiche was founded in 1883 with a small vineyard at the foot of the Andes, called El Trapiche. Started as a local company, Trapiche has now grown into a major winery with more than 1,200 hectares of vineyards. In addition, they work with more than 300 wine growers in the area to offer wine from the best terroirs in Mendoza. Vineyard and region Sourced from several vineyards at Alto Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo and Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina. The soil is alluvial with many stones. Vinification The grapes are destemmed and pressed. The fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15 degrees. Part of the wine undergoes a malolactic fermentation. This converts the sharper malic acid into milder lactic acid, giving the wine a creamier mouthfeel. After fermentation, the wine matures for 9 months in oak barrels. Color Lemon Yellow. Scent Apple, honey, cinnamon. Taste Full wine, round in taste, soft aftertaste. Serve with Delicious with shellfish, seafood pasta or white fish. Also delicious with white cheeses, such as goat cheese and brie.
